The WDM backbone network can carry large volumes of traffic. NEC's WDM system can transmit various types of optical signals. Thus, the range of managed IP services can be expanded using Ethernet-over-WDM as a transparent connection between the metro core and an ISP/ASP/Data Center.
The Metro core interconnects Metro access and manage traffic to various users. NEC products include Reconfigurable OADM systems for the Metro Core to efficiently transport with service traffic between the ISP/ASP/Data Center and Business Access (Enterprise data etc).
NEC's NG-SDH Nodes can aggregate traffic from various types of access networks, for example, -Legacy TDM lines and IP Networks (with IP over DSL)-. Then, they can be transferred to the Metro Core network through a high-speed link.
